The Worth
Baseball Club was founded in 1988, by Jack Hand, a former
Houston Astro scout and Twitty City coach. Jack won several
national tournaments with Twitty City and Worth, including
the AAU Junior Olympics. He coached many future
professional players with the two teams, including some
major leaguers. Jack also founded the Mid-State Amateur
Baseball Association (MSABA) in 1992.
The Worth
Bulldogs program was started in 1998 by Ken Perkins as an
outlet for 17-18 year old players. The name was changed the
following year to the Brentwood Bulldogs to reflect the new
home of the team. There are now 18U and 17U Brentwood
Bulldogs teams.
2007 began a new era of Worth Bulldogs to recognize the tenth
year of the program and the history of the team. |
